A huge part of what we do at Bahasi for our OVC’s is to prepare them for life outside of the orphanage as well as adulthood. Every sunday we try to get all the children involved with making local Malawian dishes, such as samosas, mandasi, nthobwa, Zibwente or buns; but occasionally our international volunteers demonstrate new ways of cooking seasonal foods, most recently was pumpkin soup. 

Currently we are having to spend about 60,000 kwacha per month on enough fresh ingredients to ensure all children get to enjoy the food. If you are able, please donate to our cooking programme so we can contunue to celebrate and learn about Malawian culture together
